We join the community and loved ones in mourning the passing of our dear friend, former API Forward board member and inspiring leader, Hòa Nguyễn. 

Hòa was more than a leader – she was a force of kindness, conviction, and hope. A relentless advocate for youth and education, she devoted her life to removing barriers and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

Her leadership journey – from the David Douglas School Board to the Clackamas Education Service District to the Oregon House of Representatives – reflects everything we strive for at API Forward: developing and empowering Asian and Pacific Islanders to lead with purpose and heart.Hòa is a story of possibilities.

We were deeply honored to celebrate Hoa as our keynote speaker at our 10th anniversary gala in 2024. Her words and presence reminded us of the power of living a life rooted in service, compassion, and a fierce love for community.

We will carry Hòa’s extraordinary light forward by continuing her work – creating opportunities, lifting others, building leaders, and ensuring that many more younger people follow in her footsteps.
